TROOPS RESCUED TRAPPED HIKERS AND CONTROLLED A SUDDEN FIRE

A sudden fire occurred in Haldummulla - Wangedigala area in the Badulla District around 1600 hours on 13 July 2018. The mentioned area is located within the responsible area of Security Forces (Central) and the troops of Security Forces Headquarters (Central) controlled the fire on the directions of the Commander Security Forces (Central), Major General G R H Dias VSV USP ndcpsc IG.

A team consisting of one officer and twenty soldiers rushed to the place just after the incident was reported to this Headquarters. Consequent to the prompt actions taken by the troops, have reserved trapped hikers and the wild fire which was spreading in the area was completely doused within a short period.
