A special religious programme was organized at the Mahaweli Maha Sthupa in Kothmale on 02 June 2018 by the Security Forces (Central) in collaboration with a religious organization.
Responding to a request made by the Ariyamagga Organization, Colombo from the Commander of the Army, 3 (V) Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment (3(V)SLSR) under command to 112 Brigade of Security Forces (Central) were tasked for this charity campaign. 04 officers and 60 other ranks of 3(V) SLSR provided their fullest assistance to make this programme a success.
At this programme troops facilitated 359 Buddhist monks by providing accommodation and offering alms. Further, the responsibility of taking care of these monks had been taken by the troops depicting the exemplary behavior of military personnel.
