The commemoration of the war heroes who sacrificed their lives to bring peace to Sri Lanka after ending a brutal war that lasted over three decades is held every year in May. This year, in conjunction with that programme, various welfare initiatives and social service projects are being carried out by the Sri Lanka Army.
Accordingly, a programme of distribution of books and school supplies of students of Keliwatta Tamil Vidyalaya, was held on 16 June 2025, under the leadership and guidance of the Commanding officer of 3rd (Vol) Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment. The event was funded by the collective financial contributions of the All Ranks at the unit, in honor of the soldiers who gave their lives in service to the motherland. On that day, books and school supplies were distributed to 70 students of the school.
