Following the island-wide adverse weather during recent days, troops of the 111 Infantry Brigade under the 11 Infantry Division, SFHQ–Central, conducted search operations in the Palapathwela and Ellepola areas of Matale District, where a landslide had left five persons missing. As at 02 December 2025, one body was recovered, and a team of 01 × 15 troops was deployed to continue the search for the remaining victims
On 02 December 2025, 01 × 12 troops from 5 (V) SLLI were tasked with restoring the access road to the Badulla Rajamawatha in Kandy District. Additionally, 01 × 10 troops from 22 VIR cleared the Udagama–Gampola Road following an embankment collapse, while 01 × 08 troops from 2 (V) SLSR restored the affected roadway in the area.
Troops of the 641 Infantry Brigade restored the Rattota–Riverston–Medawatte Road in Matale District, which had sustained severe damage due to the disaster. Furthermore, on 02 December 2025, 03 × 30 troops from 1 SLRC repaired the electricity network in the Hapuwida GS Division of the Ukuwela Divisional Secretariat, where fallen trees had disrupted power lines. On 03 December 2025, 00 × 14 troops from the same unit restored the water supply system in the Kaludewala area of Matale District
