22 INFANTRY DIVISION CORNERSTONE LAID FOR THREE MORE NEW HOUSES FOR NEEDED FAMILIES IN 22 DIVISION AREA

The foundation stone-laid to construction of three new houses for needy families living in 221, 222 and 223 Infantry Brigades areas, respectively on 11,12 and 15 January 2024 held with simple ceremony, adhering to religious formalities.

The Eastern Commander's intention on the project is meritorious to enhance the cooperation and reputation between civil society and the Security Forces serving in the area. Financial support for all three houses has been initiated by the direction and coordination of the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, Major General P A M Peiris RSP USP psc.

Under the 222 Infantry Brigade, 5(V) Sri Lanka Artillery constructing a house for Mr. R M Ranjith Wasantha Bandara, the needy family who is the residence at the Thalgaswewa, Agbopura and, cornerstone was laid on 11 January 2024 with the financial sponsored of Mr. Anuradha Kotalawala.

Under the 223 Infantry Brigade, 6 Sri Lanka Armoured Corps constructing a house for Mr. G R Chaminda Kumara, the needy family who is the residence at the 10 Mile Post, Kithuluttu, Morawewa and, cornerstone was laid on 12 January 2024 with the financial sponsored of Mr. U Anuradha Kothalawala.

Under the 221 Infantry Brigade, 20 Gajaba Regiment constructing a house for Mr. K Upul Priyantha’s, the needy family who is the residence at the 07 Mile Post, Mahasenpura, Sripura and, cornerstone was laid on 15 January 2024 with the financial sponsored of Mr. Isuru Prabath Kumara.

The Estimated cost per house is Rs: 1.35 million and expected to be complete within 03 months.
