Under the vision and guidance of the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, Major General P A M Peiris RSP USP psc, the Commander, 222 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier H K S Thillakarathne, initiate the school stationery accessories distribution programme with the aim of encouraging the education for 101 students with economic difficulties of Grade 1 to 4 in Seruwawila Sri Sumedankara Dhamma School.Major C D P Jayathilaka RWP RSP, the Commanding Officer of 9 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, and troops were organized the event on 10 December 2023 in Seruwawila Mangala Raja Maha Vihara premises.
The sponsorship and financial support given by the Mr. Ropitha Gannoruwa and his family, who lives in Australia, on the request of the Commander, 222 Infantry Brigade and Rs. 220,000 expended for this worthy course. Moreover, provided lunch for 250 students and teachers of the Dhamma School.

The Commander, 222 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier H K S Thillakarathne, Civil Affairs Officer, 222 Infantry Brigade, Lieutenant Colonel D S K Senarathna, Senior Officers, the sponsor and his family members, Commanding Officer of 9 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and troops were took part in the occasion.
