Troops of 224 Brigade organized a two - day seminar at AI Hidaya Maha Vidyalaya Muthur on 17 and 18 July with the aim of assisting the students who are expected to appear in the forthcoming G.C.E A/L exam 2018. The Seminar was organized under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 22 Division Major General Aruna Jayasekara and with the assistance of Director, Zonal Education Office Muthur.
General Officer Commanding 22 Division and distinguished invitees were welcomed by the students in their customary way and invitees joined in lighting the traditional oil lamp to mark the commencement of the event. Further, the welcome speech was delivered by Mr. SSM Iqubal Deputy Director Zonal Education Office Muthur.
Mr. AML Sadakh BA (Hons) and Mr.MM Isharm, well experienced teachers conducted the seminar discussing target questions pertaining to Arts and Commerce streams where around 185 students from 06 schools took part in the seminar.
The religious observances were conducted by Buddhist, Hindu, Christian and Islamic priests and 24 Battalion SLNG contributed the event in providing transport and refreshments for the students.
Religious Dignitaries, Commandant Army School of Logistics, Brigadier Deepal Wanniarachchi, Commander 224 Brigade Colonel Prasanna Ediriweera, Deputy Director Zonal Education Office Muthur Mr. SSM Iqubal, Senior Officers, OIC Muthur Police Station, representatives of the Department of Education also attended the inaugural occasion of the seminar.
