Under the direction of the Commander, Security Forces - East, Major General M K U P Gunaratne RSP psc ndu IG and General Officer Commanding, 23 Infantry Division, Major General K V N P Premaratne RSP USP psc, with the noble objective of keeping both students and civilians are aware of dangerous consequences of use of illegal drugs. The awareness programme was conducted on 05 October 2023 at Vakarei MahaVidyalaya.
Over 200 students and 10 teachers in the School participated for the lecture and the lecture was conducted by main coordinator in Batticaloa area Mr. P Thinesh, National Dangerous Drugs Control Board.
Colonel KSP Pothupitiya USP psc IG the overlooking Brigade Commander of 233 Infantry Brigade, Commanding Officer, 7 Battalion Gamunu Watch, Civil Affairs Officer, 233 Infantry Brigade and together with the Batticaloa district Main Coordinator of Bureau Of Commissioner General Rehabilitation Lieutenant Colonel Chandika Ehalepola attended the awareness programme.
