On World Water Day 2024, the 4 Gemunu Watch (GW) organized a cleaning programme focusing on the Unnichchai reservoir's water sources and catchment areas on 22 March 2024.
Under the guidance of Major General K.V.N.P. Premarathne RSP USP psc, the General Officer Commanding the 23 Infantry Division, and under the supervision of the Commander of the 232 Infantry Brigade and the Commanding Officer of the 4 GW, this initiative was carried out at the request of the Chief Engineer of the Water Treatment Plant in Vavunathivu.
25 Army personnel along with 25 officials from the National Water Supply and Drainage Board and 6 civilians from Unnichchai village participated in the cleaning project.
