According to the information received by 7 Military Intelligence Corps intelligent troops (attach to 221 Infantry Brigade) together with Sooriyapura Special Task Force officials, a person was apprehended with 1.3g of Heroin at Kanthale on 10 February 2023. Thereafter suspected person with illegal drugs was handed over to the Agbopura police station for further investigations.
The Commander, Security Forces (East) together with the General Officer Commanding, 22 Infantry Division, and the Brigade Commander, 222 Infantry Brigade with the Commanding Officer, 7 Military Intelligence Corps closely monitored the raid and instructed accordingly. With the apprehended of these illegal activities in respective areas, illegal activities will be stopped in the area and the general public’s confidence in the Military forces will be increased.
