CAPTURE OF ILLEGAL DRUGS AT AKKAREIPATTU

According to an information received by 3(V) Military Intelligence Corps troops, together with Thirukkovil STF officials, a person was apprehended with 37.640g of Methamphetamine (ICE) at Akkareipattu on 20 Aug 2023. Thereafter suspected person with illegal drugs was handed over to the Akkareipattu Police Station for further investigations.

The Commander, Security Forces (East) together with the General Officer Commanding, 24 Infantry Division, and the Brigade Commander, 241 Infantry Brigade with the Commanding Officer, 3(V) Military Intelligence Corps closely monitored the raid and instructed accordingly. With the apprehended of accused, illegal activities will be curtailed in the area and the general public’s confidence in the Military forces will be increased.
