CHIEF OF THE ARMY STAFF OF INDIAN ARMY CALLS ON THE COMMANDER SECURITY FORCE (EAST)

The day's itinerary of the SF Commander commenced with his visit to the Sri Subodharama Temple of Kalmunei, accompanied by the General Officer Commanding 24 Division, Major General Mahinda Mudalige.

During the troop address, Commander Security Force (East) repeatedly emphasized the great negotiation and security measures taken by the General Officer Commanding together with his under command troops to ensure the ethnic harmony in Ampara District. Moreover, he highlighted the importance of capacity building, net working and scenario building in shaping the environment in Eastern province. Later, he visited and inspected the administration aspects in the under command battalions of 23 SLSR and 8 SLNG at Sengamuwa and Kanchanakuda respectively.

Finally, Commander Security Force (East), Major General Santhusitha Pananwala attended as the special guest to the Ifthar, or the breaking fast which is one of the most significant events in the day during Ramadan at Akkaraipattu Jumma Mosque together with General Officer Commanding 24 Division, Officers and few other ranks also participated on the request of the members of the Mosque.

President of the Akkaraipattu Jumma Mosque graciously welcomed Army personnel and rendered their deep gratitude to war heroes and disabled personnel due to brutal terrorism lasted for three decades. On their request, Commander Security Force (East) delivered a few words and emphasized the importance of religious harmony and unity among the ethnicity of the country and praised the attendance for the Ifthar festival of Ramadan.
