COMMANDER OF THE ARMY VISITS TROOP WORK SITES IN SFHQ (E) AREA

The Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Lasantha Rodrigo RWP ctf ndc psc IG, paid an official visit to the Security Forces Headquarters (East) area on 13 December 2025 to inspect the work sites of Army troops involved in reconstruction activities in disaster-affected areas.

Upon his arrival in Trincomalee, he was received by the Commander, Security Forces (East), Major General J.S.B.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc.

During the visit, The Commander of the Army went to the Operations Room of the 22 Infantry Division, where he was briefed by the Commander, Security Forces (East), and the General Officer Commanding of the 22 Infantry Division on the ongoing disaster relief and reconstruction operations. He also reviewed the progress achieved in the area.

The Commander visited the Nilapola Dam, which had been damaged due to adverse weather, and addressed officers and troops of the 5 (V) SLA, 9 VIR, and 2 (V) GR, who were actively engaged in restoring damaged roads and canals.

On 14 December 2025, The Commander visited the Gallalla-Manampitiya area, where railway construction is in progress. There, he addressed all troops and encouraged them to continue their excellent work.
