CONFERRED THE "SRI ROHANA JANARANJANA DESHAMANYA" HONORARY PATRIOTIC TITLE FOR THE COMMANDER OF SECURITY FORCES (EAST)

The officers of the armed forces and lay devotees who have performed great service for the development faced various difficult times and obstacles and sacrificed their efforts, wealth, and time to save and develop the Dehiwatta Sirivaddana Rajamaha Viharaya belonging to the Sri Lanka Amarapura Mulavanshika Maha Nikaya for conferment of the honorary patriotic title was done on Saturday (February 18) by the coordination of Kalavane Kosala Tissa thero of Dehiwatta Sirivaddana Rajamaha Viharaya.

For the dedication to the development of Dehiwatta Sirivaddana Rajamaha Viharaya, particularly appreciating and in recognition of tireless service in socio-cultural and religious matters "Sri Rohana Janaranjana Deshamanya" Honorary Patriotic Title Award was conferred on Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, the Commander of Security Forces (East). This title was awarded by the hand of Rajakeeya Panditha Mahopagya Most Venerable Ahungalle Wimaladamma Thissa Thero, Maha Nayaka of the Sri Lanka Amarapura Mulavanshika Maha Nikaya. The Commander of the 22 Infantry Division, Major General Saliya Amunugama, and the Commander of the Eastern Naval Area, Rear Admiral Dammika Kumara, who contributed to those tasks along with the Commander of the Security Forces (East), were also presented with the "Sri Rohana Janaranjana Deshamanya" Honorary Patriotic Title Award on that day. In addition to this, several other lay devotees were also given the honorary title of "Buddha Sasana Deshamani".

After the ceremony, Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi, the Commander of the Security Forces (East), and other senior officers who participated in the ceremony, including the civilians gave alms, and offered prayers to the Maha Sangha who participated in the Dehiwatta Sirivaddana Rajamaha Viharaya for the ceremony.
