EASTERN COMMAND CELEBRATES CHRISTMAS AND THE 2024 NEW YEAR WITH TROOPS AND FAMILIES

In a heartwarming display of camaraderie and festive spirit, Eastern Command transformed into a heaven of joy and music this Christmas and 2024 New Year season. Nearly 300 of crowd including Soldiers and their families came together to stage a spectacular Christmas musical show, spreading cheer and creating lasting memories in the unique setting of a military base.

These events were conducted, according to the vision of Major General Prasanna Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG, the Commander, Security Forces - East and by the staff of the Security Forces (East). The show featured a diverse cast of performers, displaying the hidden talents within the military ranks. Soldiers and their family members, kids, took the stage, proving that there is more to the military community than meets the eye.

The stage of the musical show and the surroundings of Eastern Headquarters were adorned with festive decorations and twinkling lights, creating a magical atmosphere that transported everyone into the holiday spirit. Christmas trees, wreaths, and stockings adorned the stage, bringing a touch of home to the military surroundings.

To make the evening even more memorable, the Security Forces Commander interacted with all soldiers and their families during the event. The Santa Claus spread joy and gratitude throughout the camp by giving Christmas gifts to the children. These unexpected moments added an extra layer of excitement and surprise, leaving everyone in high spirits. In addition, a delicious dinner was provided to all the participants for this lovely evening. The Christmas musical show in the Eastern Headquarters proved to be a resounding success, leaving a lasting impression on everyone fortunate enough to witness it.
