THE OUTGOING COMMANDER SECURITY FORCES (EAST) UNDERTAKES A FORMAL VISIT TO 23 INFANTRY DIVISION

Major General Prasanna Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG, the outgoing Commander of the Security Forces Headquarters (East), was honored in a grand farewell ceremony held at the 23 Infantry Division Headquarters on 4 April 2024.

Upon his arrival, the Commander Security Forces (East) was accorded a Drive pass at the entrance. Following military protocol, he participated in a group photograph and left his signature in the visitors' book at the 23 Infantry Division compound, symbolizing the cherished memories of his tenure.

In his farewell address to the troops of the 23 Infantry Division, Major General Prasanna Gunaratne RSP ndu psc IG expressed his heartfelt gratitude to all ranks of the 23 Division for their excellent conduct and cooperation demonstrated during his tenure. As a token of appreciation, he was presented with a memento, commemorating his leadership. The occasion was marked with an all-rank tea, a tradition symbolizing camaraderie and unity within the military.

The event witnessed the presence of the 231, 232, and 233 Infantry Brigade Commanders, alongside Staff officers of the Security Forces Headquarters (East), Commanding Officers, Officers, and enlisted personnel from the 23 Infantry Division, all gathering to bid farewell and express their respect to the outgoing Commander, Security Forces (East).
