OUTGOING COMMANDER, SF (EAST) UNDERTAKES FORMAL VISIT TO 24 INFANTRY DIVISION

The Commander SF (E), Major General S R K Hettiarachchi RWP RSP VSV USP ndu psc days prior to his farewell for the new appointment, visited the 24 Infantry Division at Malwatta-Ampara on 05 June 2023.

The General Officer Commanding, Major General W Chandrasiri RSP USP psc and all officers warmly welcomed Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi on his arrival. In accordance with military traditions, saluted him by Guard Turnout as a Drive Pass and welcomed him to the GOC’s office, and later he addressed troops under the 24 Infantry Division with 2x Bde Comds and all COs followed by presenting a memento to mark his visit.

Adding memories to the day, the outgoing Comd SF (E) was invited to plant a sapling on the premises and pose for a group photograph. Summing up the series of events, all Senior Officers, and Officers hosted a farewell lunch in honor of the outgoing Comd SF (E) at the Officers’ Mess 24 Infantry Division.
