SF (EAST) TROOPS COME FORWARD TO ASSIST THE VICTIMS OF HEAVY RAINFALL

Under the guidance of the Commander Security Force (East) Major General Santhusitha Pananwala, with the direction and close supervision by the General Officer Commanding 23 Division Brigadier Kapila Udalupola and with the instruction and involvement of the Commander 233 Brigade Colonel Anil Samarasinghe and Commander 232 Brigade Colonel Roshan Jayamanna, troops assisted the people displaced due to heavy rain in the Eastern Province.

Accordingly, the troops of 18 Sri Lanka National Guard commanded by Major Damith Premawansa provided dinner to the displaced people at WAMMIWATTUWAN and provided transport facilities utilizing a boat service at REDEETHENNA where the road was inundated due to heavy rainfall on 06 November 2018.

Meanwhile, the troops of 12 Sri Lanka National Guard Commanded by Major Nishantha Dahanayaka directly involved to establish the communal transportation at the inundated area of KIRAN- PULIPANCHIKAL road by utilizing boats in order to facilitate general public to attend to their day to day requirements.

The troops of 7 Field Engineers Regiment assisted the Railway Department Authorities for the ongoing repair of the damaged railway track in the vicinity of PUNANI Railway Station with the overflowed water of the PUNANI tank due to breaking away its bank from a separate location with the heavy rainfall. General Officer Commanding 23 Division and Commanding Officer 7 Field Engineers Regiment Major Jeeva Wickckramarachchi visited the location and guided the troops.
