The troops of the 22 Division joined hands with the MOH office of Trincomalee conducted a two day Dengue Prevention Program on 13 and 14 July in Trincomalee town and gravets of Divisional Secretariat area of Trincomalee. It has been organized in parallel with the ongoing Island-wide Dengue Prevention Campaigns.
During this two day programme, troops and respective medical teams educated the community on how effectively Dengue can be eliminated by maintaining a hygienic atmosphere at work places as well as at residences. This program was conducted under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 22 Division Major General Aruna Jayasekara, and with the coordination of the Commander 221 Brigade, Brigadier Sumith Premalal. More than 60 Officers and Soldiers, Medical Officer for Health Trincomalee Dr. S Syolibawan and Senior Public Health Inspector Mr. HM Wimalasiri, attended the programme.
