A DISCUSSION WAS HELD TO PLAN THE NECESSARY RELIEF MEASURES FOR THE PEOPLE DISPLACED IN THE POLONNARUWA DISTRICT DUE TO THE ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS PREVAILING IN THE COUNTRY, AND TO DISCUSS THE FUTURE STEPS REQUIRED TO RESTORE NORMALCY TO THE LIVES OF

Owing to the adverse weather conditions experienced across the country, a discussion on providing the essential relief assistance to the displaced people in the Polonnaruwa District an area under the Eastern Security Forces Headquarters and on the measures to be taken to uplift and restore their daily lives, was held on 01 December 2025 at 1100 hrs at the Polonnaruwa District Secretariat.

The discussion was chaired by the Hon. T.B. Sarath, Deputy Minister of Housing, Construction, and Water Supply; the District Secretary of Polonnaruwa and the Commander, Security Forces (East), Major General J.S.B.D.W. Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc.

Senior officials of government institutions in the area, as well as senior Army officers including the 23 Division Commander, Major General G.P.P. Kulathilaka ndc, also participated in the discussion. Following the conclusion of the coordination discussion, an inspection visit was conducted across the region to observe the areas affected by the disaster.
