56 Division was raised on 17 October 1997 and presently located at KOKELIYA. The Division is comprised with 02 Brigades (561 Brigade & 563 Brigade ). 05 x Bns are placed under command. General Officer Commanding 56 Division is Brigadier T J Nanayakkara RWP, since 02 January 2016. Total Strength of 56 Division is 105 x 2317.
