Road accidents have become one of the major issues in Sri Lanka. Especially, School Children are being met with road accidents in several times due to the less consciousness on road signs and heavy traffic conditions. Therefore, students of Mannar schools were provided with essential road signs which were long felt requirement for them.
The donation was taken place on 09 May 2018 under the guidance and supervision of the General Officer Commanding of 54 Division Major General Athula Galagamage.
This donation was a result of a request made by Teachers and Parents Association of Mannar from the General Officer Commanding of 54 Division and he took immediate steps by taking the sponsorship of CEAT (PVT) Ltd to distribute road sign boards for school children. Five schools were provided with road safety boards under this donation programme.
The General Officer Commanding of 54 Division, Senior Officers, Officials of CEAT Lanka (PVT) Ltd, School Teachers, Parents and number of students gathered in this occasion.
