In a noble effort to commemorate National Martyrs’ Day and observe World Blood Donor Day, the 543 Infantry Brigade organized a blood donation campaign on 14 June 2025. The event took place in collaboration with the Mannar District General Hospital Blood Bank and witnessed the voluntary participation of nearly 125 soldiers from the 54 Infantry Division.
The program commenced with a two-minute silence to solemnly honor and pay tribute to all national martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice for the nation. This was followed by a special address delivered by Dr. M.H.M. Asath, Director of the Mannar District General Hospital.
The event was held under the guidance of Major General A M C P Wijayaratne RWP RSP nps psc, General Officer Commanding, 54 Infantry Division, who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. Mr. M. Pradeepan, Divisional Secretary of Mannar, attended the event as the Guest of Honor.
The entire campaign was successfully coordinated and executed under the leadership of Colonel H.S.W.K. Galhenage RWP RSP USP psc, Commander, 543 Infantry Brigade.
In support of the welfare of donors, Alliance Finance extended generous assistance by providing healthy meals to all participants. Mr. A.N.A. Roy, representing the company, was present at the event, showcasing commendable corporate support for community-driven initiatives.
This meaningful initiative not only promoted the importance of blood donation but also served as a heartfelt tribute to the fallen heroes of the nation.
