56 INFANTRY DIVISION CONTINUES MEDICAL CAMP FOR VISION IMPAIRED PEOPLE IN BOGASWEWA

Extending the human generosity, troops of 56 Infantry Division, continuation of Nandimithragama Eye Clinic the 11 Gemunu Watch Battalion organized an Eye Clinic at Primary Medical Care Unit premises Bogaswewa on 01 April 2024 with the aim of assisting visually impaired people in Bogaswewa.

424 visually impaired patients were benefited undergoing eye checkups, and 100 reading glasses were provided in first stage of the programme. Furthermore 77 patients were forwarded for Cataract Surgeries under the evaluation of eye specialist doctor. Additionally, refreshments were served to those who were screened at the medical camp.

The programme was launched with the generous contribution of Dr. V Sarveswaran, the Secretary of Assist to Rehabilitation and Resettlement Organization and the event was conducted under the guidance of Major General S Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division.

Deputy General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division Brigadier WSV Fernando USP ndc IG, Col (Coord), Commanding Officer 11 Gemunu Watch, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, Staff of Assist to Rehabilitation and Resettlement Organization and residents in the area participated in the programme.
