56 INFANTRY DIVISION CONTINUES MEDICAL CAMP FOR VISION IMPAIRED PEOPLE IN NANDIMITHRAGAMA

Extending the human generosity, troops of 56 Infantry Division, The 11 Gemunu Watch Battalion organized an Eye Clinicat its 'B' Company camp premiseson 23 March 2024 with the aim of assisting visually impaired people in Nandimithragama.

358 visually impaired patients were benefited undergoing eye checkups, and spectacles were provided in first stage of the programme. Furthermore 65 patients were forwarded for Cataract Surgeries under the evaluation of eye specialist doctor. Additionally, refreshments were served to those who were screened at the medical camp.

The program was launched with the generous contribution of Dr. Sarveswaran, the Secretary of Assist to Rehabilitation and Resettlement Organization and the event was conducted under the guidance of Major General S. Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding of 56 Infantry Division.

Kasturimudali RSP ndc psc General Officer Commanding 56 Infantry Division, Colonel (Coord), Commanding Officer 11 Gemunu Watch, Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks, Staff of Assist to Rehabilitation and Resettlement Organization, and residents in the area participated in the programme.
