In line with the vision of the Commander Security Forces (Wanni), Major General K.M.P.S.B. Kulathunga RSP ndu psc, and under the guidance of the General Officer Commanding 56 Infantry Division, Major General K.N.D. Karunapala RSP ndu, the 562 Infantry Brigade organized a special programme on 01 October 2025 to mark World Children’s Day at Vidyatikumara Mixed School, MN 43 Grama Niladhari Division. The event was supported by the Officers and Other Ranks of the 12(V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.
A total of 40 students and their teachers took part in the initiative, where troops of the 12(V) VIR, together with the school community, carried out a cleaning and beautification campaign within the school premises. This collective effort not only enhanced the learning environment but also underscored the Army’s continued commitment to promoting civic responsibility and community development.
The programme concluded with a friendly fellowship, where participants were served buns and tea, symbolizing unity, care, and goodwill.
Through this meaningful initiative, the 562 Infantry Brigade reaffirmed its dedication to nurturing the aspirations of the younger generation while strengthening trust, cooperation, and mutual understanding between the Sri Lanka Army and the local community.
