61 DIVISION ORGANISED A SHRAMADHANA CAMPAIGN TO PREVENT DENGUE

Sri Lanka Army is standing as one of the prominent government institutes to serve the country in various circumstances such as disastrous situations, conflicts, protests, welfare and assisting to prevent several health issues which make a hazard of the normal daily routing of the society.

Envision this purpose, the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu is directing his troops in organising number of social welfare activities to facilitate the people in Wanni region.

In that context, troops under 61 Division organised a shramadhana campaign on 16 September 2018 as a part of making aware the community to prevent from Dengue.

The Shramadhana Campaign was carried out by troops of 25 Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry covering the areas of Poovarasu Primary School, Government Hospital in Poovarasankulam and Children Park.

The Commanding Officer of 25 Battalion of Sri Lanka Light Infantry directed his troops to make success this Shramadhana Campaign under the guidance of the Commander 611 Brigade Colonel L D S S Liyanage RSP USP psc Hdmc.

The entire event was launched under the careful supervision of the General Officer Commanding of 61 Division Brigadier K D C G J Thilakarathne RWP RSP.

The District Medical Officer of Poovarasankulam Government Hospital Dr.Thiruwakaran with his staff, Senior Military Officers, Officers along with Other Ranks of 61 Division and number of villagers in Poovarasankulam Grama Niladhari Division participated in the event.
