In line with the Government's Clean Sri Lanka Initiative and with the prior approval of Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni), 8 Field Engineer Regiment, Sri Lanka Corps of Engineers (SLE) successfully conducted a Leadership Development Programme for the prefects and student leaders of Parakramapura Maha Vidyalaya, Padaviya on a request made by the school principal.
The programme was organized with the objective of enhancing the leadership qualities, teamwork, self confidence, communication skills, and decision-making abilities of the students, who represent the future leaders of the nation. The day's activities comprised a series of interactive leadership lectures, group discussions, and practical leadership development exercises designed to foster cooperation, initiative, and responsibility among participants.
Officers and soldiers of 8 Field Engineer Regiment actively facilitated the programme, sharing their knowledge, experience, and leadership principles developed through military service. The practical activities provided students with an opportunity to apply leadership concepts in a challenging and engaging environment while strengthening teamwork and problem-solving skills.
The programme received overwhelming appreciation from the Principal, teachers, students, and parents, who commended the Regiment's efforts in supporting the development of youth leadership and character building within the community. The enthusiastic participation and positive feedback received from all stakeholders reflected the success and effectiveness of the programme.
