The annual holy festival at Kannagi Amman Kovil in Wattappalai was celebrated from 06 to 10 June 2025, drawing an extraordinary gathering of over 400,000 devotees from across the region. This deeply spiritual and culturally significant event brought together worshippers in a vibrant atmosphere of faith, devotion, and unity.
As a heartfelt gesture of goodwill and community care, the 59 Infantry Division, under the leadership of Major General D.R.N. Hettiarachchi RWP RSP USP, General Officer Commanding, organized a Dansala on 09 June 2025. Devotees were warmly served seeni sambol buns and refreshing coriander drinks throughout the day, fostering a spirit of compassion and togetherness.
To further support the needs of the large gathering, a medical camp was set up and operated continuously from 06 to 10 June 2025, offering essential healthcare services to the public and ensuring the safety and well-being of all those who took part in the sacred festivities.
