ARMY TROOPS RESTORE FLOOD-AFFECTED KANDASAMINAGAR VIPULANANDA VIDYALAYA

Kandasaminagar Vipulananda Vidyalaya, located within the Kandasaminagar Grama Seva Division, was fully restored following the flooding that occurred on 27 November 2025. A 01 x 15 troops from the 17 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry promptly undertook the cleaning and rehabilitation effort on 04 December 2025. The operation was carried out under the close supervision of Major General S A U A Solangaarachchi RSP ndc psc, General Officer Commanding 56 Infantry Division, and in accordance with the guidance of Major General K M P S B Kulatunga RSP ndc psc, Commander Security Force Headquarters (Wanni).

Acting on the timely instructions of the Commander 562 Brigade, the restoration mission was meticulously coordinated under the direct supervision of the Commanding Officer of the 17 (V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry. Troops thoroughly cleaned the entire school premises, including classrooms, pathways, and surrounding areas, ensuring that the learning environment was brought back to a safe and functional state for students and staff.

The dedicated efforts of the troops not only restored normalcy to the school but also highlighted the Sri Lanka Army’s steadfast commitment to community welfare and disaster-response responsibilities. Their swift and disciplined action ensured that students could return to a clean, secure, and comfortable environment, reaffirming the Army’s role as a reliable pillar of support during emergencies.
