The Vesak Festival 2025 was celebrated with great reverence and enthusiasm at the historic Mathota Rajamaha Viharaya on 12, 13, and 14 May 2025. The event was held under the esteemed guidance of the General Officer Commanding, 54 Infantry Division, who also graced the occasion as the chief guest.
This vibrant celebration honored the spiritual significance of Vesak and featured a variety of religious and cultural activities, including Bodhi Puja, Vesak Dansala, and an impressive display of Vesak lanterns. The event was organized in close collaboration with the Sri Lanka Navy and Police, showcasing a unified effort in commemorating this sacred occasion.
The successful execution of the festival not only upheld Buddhist traditions but also strengthened community bonds and fostered a spirit of unity among all participants. Senior Officers, Officers, and Other Ranks from the Army, Navy, and Police took part in the celebration, along with a large gathering of civilians, creating a meaningful and inclusive atmosphere.
