Distribution of Dry Ration Packs to Low-Income Families

Demonstrating their continued commitment to community welfare, troops of the 6 Battalion Sri Lanka National Guard (SLNG) conducted a dry ration distribution program for low-income families on 13 June 2025. The initiative was organized under the direction of the General Officer Commanding, 59 Infantry Division, Major General D. R. N. Hettiarachchi RWP RSP USP, and the guidance of the Commander, 593 Infantry Brigade, Colonel W. M. I. U. B. Weerasekara USP psc.

Led by the Commanding Officer of 6 SLNG, Major K. N. C. De Silva, the troops distributed dry ration packs to five deserving families residing in the Anandapuram, Maligathivu, Mulliwaikkal (West), and Thevipuram Grama Niladhari Divisions. The effort aimed to provide much-needed relief and support to families facing economic hardship, further strengthening the bond between the military and the local community.
