According to a concept of the Commander of the 541 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier I P Jayasinghe RWP, and under the guidance of Commanding Officer 5 (V) Mechanized Infantry Regiment, Lieutenant Colonel J P U Kumara USP, the troops of 5 (V) MIR carried out a security fence construction programme at the Regional Hospital, Vedithalthiv.
As the final phase of the project, chain links were laid on the fence and successfully completed the construction work. This programme was conducted by 1x 15 troops from 5 (V) MIR, in coordination with local civilians, under the “Clean Sri Lanka” project on 17 and 19 July 2025.
