General Officer Commanding 54 Infantry Division Pays Official Visit to 541 Infantry Brigade and Under Command Battalions

Major General A M C Abeykoon RWP RSP USP ndc, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 54 Infantry Division, undertook an official visit to the Headquarters of the 541 Infantry Brigade, as well as the 10 (V) Gemunu Watch (GW) and 5 (V) Mechanized Infantry Regiment (MIR), on 05 July 2025.

Upon arrival, the GOC was warmly received by Brigadier I P Jayasinghe RWP, Commander of the 541 Infantry Brigade. In honour of the visiting senior officer, a ceremonial guard turnout was presented by troops of the 10 (V) GW. During the visit, the GOC addressed the troops, sharing his strategic vision while offering motivation, guidance, and valuable insights. He underscored the importance of discipline, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to duty as fundamental pillars of military excellence.

Following his address, Major General A M C Abeykoon RWP RSP USP ndc, visited both the 10 (V) GW and 5 (V) MIR battalions, where he conducted a comprehensive inspection of soldiers’ accommodations, infrastructure, and other administrative facilities. He also assessed the operational preparedness and responsibilities of each battalion in relation to their respective areas of deployment.
