MAJOR GENERAL C D RANASINGHE RWP RSP ASSUMED OFFICE AS THE 23RD COMMANDER OF THE SECURITY FORCES (WANNI)

A dignified formal ceremony was taken place to mark the assuming of the office of newly appointed Commander Security Forces (Wanni) Major General C D Ranasinghe RWP RSP on 04 October 2021 as the 23rd Security Forces Commander.

As the first segment of the ceremony, the newly appointed Commander of Security Forces (Wanni) was accorded with a Guard Turnout at the entrance to the premises of the Headquarters Security Forces (Wanni). Then he paid the tribute to Fallen War Heroes by laying a floral wreath to the monument at the SFHQ premises. Later on the ceremony was colored grandly with a Guard of Honor accorded by the troops of 9 GR.

Thereafter the Commander Major General C D Ranasinghe RWP RSP assuming of office and auspiciously took over the duties amid the religious observances. Subsequently mango sapling is planted the premises of headquarters office complex followed by a group photograph with senior officers and subsequently attend for troop address and All Rank Tea organized at the Other Ranks’ Mess at SFHQ (Wanni).

General Officer Commanders of Infantry Divisions, Commander FMA (N/C), Infantry Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers of SFHQ (Wanni), Commanding Officers, Officers and NCOs were present to pay their respect to the newly appointed Commander Security Force (Wanni).
