The newly appointed General Officer Commanding (GOC) of 54 Division, Brigadier Senarath Bandara RWP RSP assumed duties as the 7th GOC of the 54 Division under Security Force - Wanni on 6th July 2018.
In keeping with military formalities, a Guard turn out and Guard of Honour were accorded to the newly appointed General Officer Commanding of 54 Division when his arrival at the 54 Division Headquarters premises.
Afterwards, amid religious blessings he signed for an official document in symbolising the acceptance of duties at the new office. Later on, a mango sapling was planted in the 54 Division camp premises to mark the assuming duties of newly appointed General Officer Commanding – 54 Division.
All Brigade Commanders, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks under the 54 Division were present at the occasion.
