The Newly Appointed General Officer Commanding 54 Infantry Division, Paid An Official Visit To The 543 Infantry Brigade And Its Under Command Battalions.

Major General A M C Abeykoon RWP RSP USP ndc, the General Officer Commanding 54 Infantry Division, undertook his official visit to the 543 Infantry Brigade following the assumption of his new appointment On 03 July 2025.

Upon arrival, the GOC was accorded a ceremonial Guard Turnout by the troops of the 4 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and was warmly welcomed by Brigadier N R L Gunasena psc, Commander 543 Infantry Brigade, along with his staff.

During the visit, the GOC received a comprehensive briefing on the brigade’s operational and administrative matters. He then proceeded to inspect the Brigade Headquarters and the under-command battalions the 11 Sri Lanka Artillery (RFT) and the 4 Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment.

To mark the occasion, Major General A M C Abeykoon RWP RSP USP ndc planted a sapling. He also took time to inspect the soldiers’ welfare facilities and offered words of motivation and appreciation for their dedicated service. The Commanding Officers of the 11 SLA (RFT) and 4 VIR also participated in this significant visit.
