The natives who were displaced due to thirty years of long drawn conflict started to return and resettle as the peace began to surface in Sri Lanka subsequent to the total military defeat of LTTE. Despite many difficulties, people resettled at Bogaswewa are striving to uplift their living condition and livelihood with substantial backing from the Sri Lank Army. The villagers at Bogaswewa area were enthusiastic to develop their lands and to cultivate their agricultural based products despite much privation, but there was no appropriate place and mechanism to trade their hard earned products. Comprehending the necessity, the Weekly Fair Complex project at Bogaswewa, which catered to pressing needs of the people, was initiated under the direction of General Officer Commanding of 56 Division, Brigadier D A R Ranawaka RSP IG. The project which was supervised by the Commander 563 Brigade, Brigadier A A I J Bandara under the patronage of Deputy Chief Sanga Nayaka for Northern Province, Saddarmakeerthi Sri Sumana Siddartha Ven. Atambagaskada Kalyanathisayabidhana Nayaka Thero was declared open on 5th April 2013 by the General Officer Commanding of 56 Division and open to the public in a impressive event in line with Sinhala – Hindu New Year celebration. The Deputy Director of Agriculture - Vavuniya, Mrs Sakila Bhanu and large number of villagers were also among the present.
