The newly constructed Corporals’ Club, Renovated Canteen and the Monument of fallen War Heroeswere ceremonially opened on 10th August 2018 at 621 Brigade Headquarters with the participation of General Officer Commanding - 62 Division, Brigadier L A N S Wanigasinghe RWP RSP USP as the chief guest on an invitation made by the Commander 621 Brigade Colonel P S K Sanjeewa RWP RSP USP.
The monument was designed by then Commander 6 Brigade Brigadier A G Weerasekara USP (Retired Maj Gen presently Buddangala Venerable Ananda Thero) in 1995 and it was renovated in year 2018 under the guidance of the Commander 621 Brigade Col P S K Sanjeewa RWP RSP USP .
Troops who contributed immensely to construct these buildings and monument gathered in a Group Photograph with the day’s chief guest. Later on the Commander 621 Brigade offered a significant book to the General Officer Commanding of 62 Division which narrated on the history of the Brigade.
Subsequently, the troops under 62 Division and 621 Brigade have organized an Alms Giving for 10 Maha Sangha at the premises of 621 Brigade Headquarters and all distinguished guests gathered in offering Alms for the venerated Sangha.
The General Officer Commanding of 62 Division made the presence as the Chief Guest for the occasion while the Commander 622 Brigade together with all Commanding Officers under 621 Brigade and number of Other Ranks participated in the event.
