These images depict a scene when Security Force (Wanni) soldiers are receiving hands-on training for internal security responsibilities, including crowd dispersal, unarmed combat, and real fighting, under the direction of Commander Security Force (Wanni), Major General Champaka Ranasinghe.
The duration of the training began on 26 June 2023 and ended on 14 July 2023, with the participation (01 x 30 each) of the 7 Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment, the 2 Mechanized Infantry Regiment, the 2 (Volunteer) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, and the 2 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Army Women's Corps. Similarly, all soldiers of the Security Force (wanni) to have this training within two weeks in order to react to contemporary issues.
Further instructor assistance was provided by the 1 Commando Regiment, 3 Commando Regiment, 7 (Volunteer) Armored Regiment and the 2 (Volunteer) Sri Lanka Light Infantry Regiment.
Brigadier General Staff Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) Brigadier Pradeep Gamage conducted the closing remarks and the course participants conducted the demonstration with practical skills learned from the course.
