Series of Devotional Programs Conducted by 59 Infantry Division for Upcoming Vesak Festival

Under the esteemed leadership of the General Officer Commanding 59 Infantry Division, Major General D R N Hettiarachchi RWP RSP USP, a series of spiritually enriching programs were successfully organized in celebration of the upcoming Vesak Poya Day. These events were aimed at uplifting and inspiring all ranks serving in the Mullaitivu district.

As part of this initiative, a motivational lecture was conducted on 10 May 2025, lasting four hours. The lecture was delivered by the highly respected Venerable Madukande Thero, whose insightful teachings focused on strengthening the inner well-being and spiritual resolve of the troops. His wisdom offered invaluable guidance and inspiration to all who attended.

This impactful event was made possible through the dedicated efforts of the Brigade Commanders of the 591, 592, and 593 Infantry Brigades, supported by the committed Staff Officers of the 59 Infantry Division. Over 1,000 devotees attended the program, a testament to the unity and coordination among all Infantry Battalions under the capable direction of their commanders.

Logistics elements also played a key role in ensuring the smooth execution of the event, from organization to the provision of refreshments for all participants. Their contributions reflected the thoughtful planning and care taken to make the day memorable.
