Troops of 6 GW Distribute Coconut Plants to Needy Families

Troops of the 6 Battalion, Gemunu Watch (6GW), distributed 150 coconut plants to underprivileged families in Sugandipuram, Mullaitivu. The guidance of the Commander, 593 Infantry Brigade, Colonel W. M. I. U. B. Weerasekara USP psc.

The distribution event was held at the Sugandipuram Grama Niladhari Office on 12 June 2025, with the Commanding Officer of 6GW, Lieutenant Colonel G. G. N. Wijesooriya RSP USP psc, and Grama Niladhari Officer Mrs. Udaya Pavani Namala gracing the occasion as chief guests. The coconut plants were personally handed over to selected families, offering not only immediate encouragement but also a valuable means of long-term livelihood and sustainability.
