The Holy church of Madhu in Mannar held its annual July fiesta from 22 June to 2 July this year too. More than 35000 pilgrims in Madhu area and other parts of the country visited during this period to homage the Holy church in seeking blessings from our lady of Madhu. The final mass was held in the morning of 2 July 2018 with the participation of more than 35000 pilgrims. On an invitation received by Security Forces Commander (Wanni) through Rev Fr S Emiliansupillai the Chief Administrator of the church, 12 Officers and 200 Other Ranks participated in the final mass.
According to the instructions given by the Commander Security Forces (Wanni) troops of 613 Brigade and 61 Division organized a Dansela to refresh over 5000 devotees gathered in the church premises soon after the termination of the final mass.
The General Officer Commanding of 56 Division Brigadier Prabath Dematanpitiya ndu psc represented the event on behalf of the Commander Security Force (Wanni). Brigade Commanders of 612 and 613 Brigades were also present at the mass.
