TROOPS OF 62 DIVISION TOGETHER WITH 621 BRIGADE ORGANIZED SERIES OF MERITORIOUS EVENTS AT HELAMBAWEWA AREA

Troops under 62 Division organized series of charitable events on 22 June 2018 at Helambawewa with the patronage of the Principal and Chief Incumbent of Sunethra Devi Pirivena Ven. Dr. Medagoda Abayathissa thero.

These series of meritorious events were taken place on account of the 13th commemoration of the of Ven. Dr. Medagoda Sumanathissa thero.

As the first event of these programmes, a donation campaign was taken place to facilitate the hundreds of helpless people in Helamabawewa area. Under this donation programme 140 pregnant mothers were provided parcels with essential items. In addition, a donation of financial provisions to construct 05 Agriculture Wells for native farmers in the area was another event. Subsequently, essential equipment for building constructions and financial provisions to construct 10 toilets were donated in remote temples while number of senior citizens in Helambawewa area were provided with Sil cloths. These series of events were come to the end with a Dhamma Sermon followed by an Alms Giving for 110 monks in nearby temples.

General Officer Commanding of 62 Division, Brigadier LANS Wanigasinghe RWP RSP USP, the Commander 621 Brigade, number of Officers and Other Ranks of 62 Division together with under command Brigades and Battalions and hundreds of civilians participated in the event.
