Extending the warm and best wishes to all Officers and Other Ranks for the Year 2022, the Commander Security Forces (Wanni) Major General C D Ranasinghe RWP RSP made his presence on 3rd January 2022 for the occasion of flag hosting ceremony prior to the work on Year 2022.
The formal function was held, in front of the office complex of Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni) and National flag hosted by Commander Security Forces (Wanni). Two minutes silence was observed by the Officers and Other Ranks to pay tribute the war heroes who lost lives in the North East war. After reading the Oath of Allegiance of Government Service, Commander Security Forces (Wanni) addressed the all Officers, Other Ranks and civil staff. Thereafter the Medical Officer delivered an awareness speech to educate the means to prevent Corona Virus.
After that, 250 Jack plants were planted in Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni) premises for the commencement of work on account of New Year. The ceremony was terminated after having tea with the gathering of all ranks.
Coincided with the New Year Programme in accordance with the concept of Commander Security Forces (Wanni), an alms giving was offered to 15 Buddhist Priests at the Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni) on 1st January 2022, invoking the blessings on Commander of the Army, all the Officers, Other Ranks and civil staff under command to Security Forces (Wanni) and their family members and wishing Nibbana on all the war heroes who lost their lives in the war and speedy recovery of all the wounded army personals.
Brigadier Administration and Quartering Brigadier O M D Gunasinghe, Brigadier General Staff Brigadier D N J Fernando RSP USP along with all Senior Officers, Officers, Other Ranks and civil staff performing duties at Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni) made their presence for the occasion.
