In expanding peace and harmony, with the conceptual layout and directions of Commander Security Force (Wanni), Major General J P C Peiris RWP RSP ndc with the guidance of General Officer Commanding 21 Infantry Division Major General W M S C K Wanasinghe RSP USP a humanitarian aid programme was launched at the Muhaththankulam Government Tamil Medium School, Cheddikulam.
The initiative backup by the Group 70 of Royal College Colombo collaborated with Help Age Sri Lanka. In this Corporate Social Responsibility project focused to provide services an eye and medical clinic for villagers from Neriyakulam, Adiyapuliyakulam, Maradamadu and Thanthirimale areas, distributing 120 dry ration packs, clothing and upgrading washroom facilities in three schools in the region.
The programme was executed by the troops of 2 Mechanize Infantry Regiment and 5 Sri Lanka National Guards under the supervision of Brigadier P M De Silva RSP USP Commander 213 Infantry Brigade.
