Troops of the 14 Rocket Regiment of Sri Lanka Artillery and 7 (V) Sri Lanka Armourd Corps successfully repaired a partially damaged section of the Hempitiyagama Tank bund located in Galnewa Divisional Secretariat Division on 04 April 2025.The damage posed a significant risk to the paddy cultivation of the surrounding community.
Under the guidance of Commander Security Forces (Wanni) Major General K M P S B Kulatunga RSP ndc psc and direction of the General Officer Commanding 21 Infantry Division Major General W W M P W W B R Palamakumbura RWP RSP with the close supervision of Commanding Officers, the troops acted swiftly to stabilize the situation.
With support from the local community, soldiers strengthened the bund using the sandbags by preventing potential flooding their timely efforts.
