Troops of the 9 Gajaba Regiment successfully repaired a partially damaged section of the Koongollawa Tank bund located at Bogahawewa Grama Niladari Division in Padviya Divisional Secretariat Division on 04 April 2025.The damage posed a significant risk to the paddy cultivation of the surrounding community.
Under the guidance of Commander Security Forces (Wanni) Major General K M P S B Kulatunga RSP ndc psc and direction of the General Officer Commanding 21 Infantry Division Major General W W M P W W B R Palamakumbura RWP RSP with the close supervision of Commanding Officer 9 Gajaba Regiment, the troops acted swiftly to stabilize the situation.
With support from the local community, soldiers strengthened the bund using the sandbags by preventing potential flooding their timely efforts.
