New Tennis Training Programme Launched at Security Force Headquarters (Wanni)

A new tennis training programme for officers and other ranks was officially launched at the renovated tennis court of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) on the morning of 08 May 2025, under the patronage of Major General K M P S B Kulatunga RSP ndc psc, Commander Security Forces (Wanni).

The refurbishment of the tennis court was initiated on the instructions of the Commander Security Force (Wanni) and executed under the close supervision of the Brigadier General Staff and Brigadier Admin and Quartering, SFHQ (Wanni). The renovation, carried out over several days, was completed with the professional support of qualified specialists, ensuring a high-quality facility for ongoing use.

The newly launched training programme marks the beginning of a renewed focus on sports and physical fitness at SFHQ (Wanni) designed for both officers and other ranks. The programme aims to enhance physical endurance, promote discipline, and foster camaraderie through structured tennis training sessions. The upgraded tennis court is now fully operational and will serve as a key venue for regular training, competitions, and inter-unit matches.
