AWARENESS PROGRAMME AND DISTRIBUTION OF MATERNITY CARE KITS FOR 150 PREGNANT MOTHERS

Essential Items Distributed to Pregnant Mothers in Mullaitivu Under the visionary concept of the Major General K M P S B Kulatunga RSP ndc psc Commander Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni), a significant community welfare programme was successfully conducted at the Pandaravaniyan Conference Hall, Mullaitivu GA Office, focusing on supporting pregnant mothers in the region. compars

The programme was conducted under the guidance of the Major General M W S Millagala RWP RSP USP Hdmc psc General Officer Commanding of the 59 Infantry Division and under the close supervision of the Colonel H M J W Bandara RSP USP nps psc Commander of the 591 Infantry Brigade. The event was attended by staff officers of the 59 Infantry Division, officers and other ranks of all under command battalions, demonstrating the strong commitment of the Security Forces towards community welfare and social responsibility.

This charitable initiative was generously funded by nature's Beauty Creations Ltd. whose contribution enabled the distribution of essential item packs to pregnant mothers in need.

In addition to the distribution programme, a valuable awareness lecture was organized in collaboration with the Medical Officer of Health (MOH) Office - Mullaitivu. The session focused on maternal and infant nutrition, healthy lifestyle practices, and proper care during pregnancy.The lecture provided important guidance to expectant mothers, empowering them with knowledge to ensure a healthy pregnancy and safe delivery.

The programme highlighted the strong civil - military cooperation between the Security Forces and government health authorities, reinforcing their shared commitment to the well-being of the community.

This initiative stands as another example of the continued humanitarian efforts undertaken in the Wanni region, reflecting the dedication of the Security Forces in supporting vulnerable groups and fostering community development.
